Criminal Justice

For careers at the intersection of the legal system and social science, our criminal justice concentration gives you the skills you need for success. It introduces key concepts like criminology, social research and criminal law.


An understanding of human behavior is a critical skill for some social science career paths. The psychology concentration provides insight into cognition, lifespan development, substance abuse and more.

Social Welfare

The social welfare concentration is ideal for students who are interested in social work but want to pursue more general careers in the social sciences field. Coursework features key topic areas like research methods, behavior, social policy and more.

Virginia Wesleyan University is Coastal Virginia's premier university of the liberal arts and sciences.
